Joe is no slam dunk to be inducted. I would actually bet that he doesn't get in.
He could pass these guys on the All Time Scoring list next year

Old enough to have watched all in question.
Sidney Moncrief
Hands down.
Could play four of the five positions.
Best rebounding guard I've ever seen.
Best defensive guard I've ever seen.
Tremendous offensive player. Could take it to the rack on anyone. Very consistent outside shot.
Even though he didn't get a championship, he was the most clutch player I've watched outside of maybe Jordan. Had the biggest heart and competitive drive of any player I've ever watched.
Couldn't count how many times he had the ball at the end of the game to win, especially that senior year, and he came through every time.
Carried that senior team to the elite eight.

No, but players with careers similar to his generally make it.

I was too young to remember what Sidney Moncrief looked like. I do know that Corliss was a fricking man down low. If he wasn't double teamed, there was no chance to stop him. Look at me....getting depressed again when I reminiscence on how good we used to be
I remember watching a replay of the 1990 game against texas down in Austin. Day, Miller, Mayberry, Ron Huery, Lenzie Howell, Arlyn Bowers, Darrel Hawkins. That team would beat this years team by 30.
frick, I need to log off.

Those guys have multiple all nba team selections and MVPS while leading their teams to at least a conference finals. Joe didn't.

True. Manu will be in, and I think Joe was a similar caliber player in their prime. Difference is Joe doesn't have the great college or over seas career to help bolster his HOF chances like some others did.
JJ Reddick for example will probably get in because of his great college career and solid NBA career. Joe has been solid to very good at both levels. And that probably keeps him out.

These are my top 3 ever to put on a Hog jersey
I would put Johnson below Alvin and Klein and ahead of Corliss and Mayberry.

i like him, love that he was a hog but he was here so little that it's just not that same as the other guys with multi years to me. must be how kentucky fans feel.

The player that rarely gets mentioned in these discussions but needs to be on any all time Razorback teams is Lenzie Howell. He was the reason that the 89 and 90 teams were so damn good. He was 6'4" playing the 4 and wasn't scared of anyone.
