The 'gubmint' determined that the 53rd parallel was to be the north border of our state, which some dumbass drunkards obviously fricked up on. There's about 50 square miles of land (and water) that is in (and these quotation marks don't do the sarcasm justice) "Tennessee" that is actually Georgia.
