got beat 35-20 against uf, but our defense actually played fairly well ... forced some turnovers that the offense couldn't capitalize on ... remember freddie rifling that ball all over the field against auburn and uf that year ...

The final score was 45-30. Watch the highlights from that game in the OP. Danny Wuerffel torched us for over 400 yards through the air. We couldn't stop them. Our corners could not cover their wide receivers. It was the first and only game in the Gene Stallings era where our defense gave up 40+ points. Guess who our DC was that year. Mike DuBose. No coincidence then that 1996 was the statistically worst defense Stallings had at Alabama.
