Now ain't that the truth. Funny that the 3 years pre-Saban Bama average recruiting class was in the 20's range. Once he arrived and lost to UL Monroe he started racking up major annual hauls of 5*s. How did that happen?

Saban had at least already made a name for himself before Bama. Nobody knew who the hell Bucky Beaver was when OM hired him. Wasn't he a high school girls basketball coach or something like that not long ago? He has no championship teams under his wing, he wasn't known for being a good QB coach like Mullens. What did he really have to offer other than an understanding of how to funnel money to players through the churches?
