Only 24 down votes so far. Maybe we'll exceed 88 or whatever I got when I reminded Alabama fans they didn't "beat themselves" when they lost to us this past season.
Alright, here's my honest take. No trolling etc. This is the last I'm going to comment about this on SECr.
Alabama was the best team in the country last year, and they are the best team currently. Saban is a legend-class coach producing consistent results both in the SEC and on the national stage. It's frustrating as hell in our quest to get to Atlanta and the Playoffs. The Alabama football program and its true fans deserve all the credit.
However, Alabama has lost to us 2 years in a row and they haven't beat themselves. Classless argument and I'm done reacting to it. If anyone here has played football, then you understand turnovers are a legitimate part of the game. We committed 0. Alabama committed 5. A couple of them were the result of poor fundamentals (at least in those instances). This is not the fault of Ole Miss. We capitalized and converted into points. We demonstrated ball control and didn't give you guys any opportunities to turn recovered fumbles or interceptions into touchdowns. Alabama's efforts, although admirable, were too late even with a fortunate onside kick recovery.
You guys lost. You didn't beat yourselves. Clemson didn't beat themselves. OJ Howard came down with several game-changing plays and the recovery of a well-timed onside kick allowed Alabama to beat Clemson.
