Ole Miss : 38% out of state
Alabama : 40% out of state

Just because Fed Ex is in Memphis certainly doesn't mean Ole Miss has it on "lock down." I'm sure Ole Miss is a solid feeder for Fed Ex, but Fred Smith doesn't give a shite about it.

I think Mike Glenn is an Ole Miss guy, but the CEO of FedEx Express is an Auburn guy.

Fred Smith and FedEx give money to a lot of schools. Weird how his kids go to schools like UVA, UNC, Duke, Memphis, etc. Has he sent any of his children to ole miss? And he's a Yale grad fwiw. He certainly gives money to ole miss, but ole miss doesn't have fedex on lockdown by any means

It's common in the deep south for money to be a lot more about status than actual money. I'm sure Ole Miss has legit money, but I'm some of those families are running off of fumes.

The same is true for Alabama, Auburn, etc. to some extent, except that Alabama has surpassed Mississippi in a number of ways and that provides for better long term financial stability.

Yes I am talking about cannon. And I know he didn't but was going to send him there. I don't know many people who would send their kids to ole miss over UVA, Duke, etc. haha. UVA is really incredible

HP is feeding their bottom kids to SEC schools with a vengeance. Outside of A&M, I would assume either Ole Miss or UGA get the most. Arkansas gets the most Dallas overrun I think, but not sure if HP kids go to Arky?

Gary Wunderlich's (rich as frick, btw, they donated several million to my high school in the early 2000s to get their name on a building) entire family went to UVA and still chose to go to Ole Miss. I get it, I guess, because so many MUS go to Ole Miss, but I was still pretty shocked to see him go there (MUS sends a bunch of kids to UVA every year too) given how much money his family gives to UVA.

MSU has to have the dumbest population of students besides the Vet and Engineering students.

Your posting proves the exact opposite. The GPA, SAT, & ACT scores of State students are a tad higher than ole miss per college data online.

Ole Miss is poor. But their boosters are wealthy enough to stuff the wallets of a few 5 stars

Ole Miss is poor. True to their redneck roots, they're willing to spend big $ to pay kids to come play foobaw in Oxford. Hell, their alums scan the sides of roads for potential linemen they can adopt, for crying out loud.

It's called desperation. "Desperate" is the defining characteristic of Ole Miss and Ole Miss people. Desperate to win, desperate to prove they aren't just run of the mill white trash, desperate to claim this, desperate to claim that...
