3* TE, Evan Hinson, commits to SC after So Cal OV. He OV'd here on 1/15 and to So Cal last weekend. He's our 24th commit.

Big receiving TE specialist, needs to add weight to help with blocking. Former Miami commit, he de-commited the day we offered.

Congrats. Maybe a 3* because of his weight, and a good contributor after he bulks up in a couple of years. Must be a reason Miami and SoCal wanted him.

He had offers from UF and Michigan as well. We need a good TE after we lost Adams this year.

Arky did have a great TE this year. Can't recall his name. But since my freshman year at Carolina, 2006, almost every if not every TE that was at the top of the Depth chart went to the NFL. Jerrell Adams this year is projected 4-5th round, Justice Cunningham, Busta Anderson, Jared Cook, Wesley Saunders.... All went NFL. I will grant you that they didn't light the world on fire once there, but they got there.

ETA: and Tori Gurley

We've sure been fortunate enough to have some good ones that had good NFL careers dating back to Willie Scott in the 70s.

We've got how many active on NFL rosters right now? Four, five maybe? Trying to remember.

Jared Cook
Wesley Saunders
Justice Cunningham
Busta Anderson

Jerell Adams will go fairly early this draft.

Am I forgetting anyone? Seems like I might be.

Hayden Hurst has a ton of upside, he's got NFL written all over him. I see him making waves next season with his size and speed. He's already 250 at 6-6 so if he adds another ten pounds with his frame and his speed and quickness and hands the NFL will grab him up in a hurry.

I love that kid Kyle Markway we took out of St. Louis, MO last year too ... he's hard-nosed with good hands and good size and runs with bad intentions after he catches the ball. He needs to learn to quit seeking contact and trying to run over people and instead run around them once in awhile.

I'm really happy to get this Hinson kid though. With his height and speed I imagine will spread him out at first and let him go up and get some balls.

mUSChamp is going to eventually get as tired as VOLS. At least mUSChamp makes sense, though.

Full disclosure, when President Pastides said that in the opening press conference, it was cringeworthy.

South Carolina has definitely been good at producing quality TE's but if anyone could stake the claim to TEU in the SEC, prior to Bielema entering the conference, it would be UGA. However, Bielema and Arkansas, since he coaches here now, will take over that title quickly. Only a couple of schools in the country utilize the TE as much and as well as he does and none of those schools are in the SEC.

Going back to the Gamecocks point, every TE that has started for Bielema since he took over in 2006 at Wisconsin has been drafted. That won't change this year with Hunter Henry or next with Jeremy Sprinkle who will arguably be the top TE in the SEC by the end of the 2016 season. That doesn't even touch on the obscene amount of TE talent he's brought in since he took over.

Assuming he stay at Arkansas for several more years, we'll continue to stay as the SEC's claim to TEU.

Hit the nail right on the head, even though the top TE Nauta has already started class he stated just a few days ago it's eating at him that he did not OV in Columbia. They keep churning them out in cock land.

Thanks ... well, there you go. Time to reload.

I'll readily admit though, UGA has had some great TEs over the years. I can remember many of them. Tennessee too.

Never get back to Atlanta-U is probably a better description of what's going down in Columbia.

I believe it was Ray Tanner who said it ... but he flubbed it. It went something like m hyphen capital U capital S capital C hyphen champ.

Or something like that.

Hold on, it's probably still on youtube ... and I agree, he has no delivery skills whatsoever.

Well dammit ... you were right, they both did it. I never heard Pastides say it, or it didn't sink in ... and I was right there in the room on the back wall. When Tanner said it though, we all kinda looked at each other in the back of the room with WTF faces.

Tanner saying it

Pastitides saying it

1. That's stupid.
2. You needed more hyphens
3. Don't flame/troll on the recruiting board

Almost, soon to be able to say that the last 5 started TE's made it to the NFL. Nobody calls it cock land though.
