McClellan played for the state championship.

That is a bit of an anomaly though.

McClellan is one of the worst programs in the state. 2015 was the first time the McClellan program had won more than 3 games in a season since 2004. They had a combined 12 wins over the previous 10 years.

And everyone knows about Pulaski Academy. They're a private school powerhouse. It is a white flight school, basically. They've won 172 games in the last 15 years and 5 state titles.

The used to be perennial powers of Central Arkansas are no longer. Little Rock Central is down and has been for a while. Parkview, McClellan, Catholic, and Hall have all turned in to has been programs.

Last room posts are on point. The LR schools produce a TERRIBLE product, typically. McClellan is usually at the bottom of that list.

If that school district/city ever gets its dysfunction in order, the UA program would benefit greatly. There are good athletes there that aren't being developed at all.

Are you talking about PA, or most of NWA? You are pretty much describing both...

The biggest part of the 'talent' in Arkansas is from LR south. The problem is culture. Outstanding athletes don't automatically go out for football anymore, if they go out for anything. Most of the best athletes are playing basketball. A large number are just walking the halls, not out for anything.

As far as Little Rock, the courts screwed up the programs there. You can't have a stable 'program' when you don't have known feeder programs and work with kids that spend developmental years in 7th grade up knowing what high school they will be attending and working into your system. The athletes are there. The system is not.

There could easily be 6 to 8 SEC level recruits out of LR, NLR and Pine Bluff every year, if not more.

Catholic should of won state about 10 years ago but they ran into one of the most talented teams ever in Springdale.
