I've enjoyed almost every road trip I have taken (except Morgantown, West Virginia).
Best game and overall experience for me was the BCS Title game that Auburn won in Arizona. Auburn won the natty and the trip was a lot of fun as well. Neat to see a different part of the country and we did some good hiking in the surrounding areas. Maybe that doesn't count b/c it wasn't a "road" trip (I flew) and it was a bowl game, not another campus.
For me the best tailgating was in Baton Rouge and the friendliest opposing fans were in Clemson.
Back to a bowl game, I think the most fun destination is the Sugar Bowl b/c the Superdome is so close to the FQ. The Rose Bowl was the prettiest setting, but I didn't like the way it was kind of by itself away from everything.
