I dont make scared political threads warning everyone of imminent destruction. The country isnt nearly as bad as your news station is telling you. No matter how many of these fear mongering threads people make, the truth is we'd be in generally the same position regardless who the scary man in the White House could have been. Hey at least we didn't invade the wrong country this time.

That's the deflection management rhetoric of the left ... lulz.

But, but, but your guy ... he was elected to save us, turn the economy around, bring peace and harmony back to the country. Bring respect back the country globally. Have us all sing kumbaya, blacks and white walking hand in hand singing in the streets. Dogs and cats sleeping together. Everyone has a new car, new phone, new house and unlimited fast food to eat.

lulz

This is about violent crime trending upwards at an alarming rate. Period. No deflection, no excuses, no bravo sierra. This is about this country deteriorating.

We're going backwards, not forwards. We're regressing, not progressing ... which is ironic given you lefties claim to be such progressives.

We're progressing at absolutely nothing except more violent crime, more destruction of the middle class, less tolerance, more PC bravo sierra.

We quickly forget how every generation we become convinced the moral standard of the country is eroding and how the end time is near.

One day it will happen, sure, all things end. If there had been an internet in the 1960's it would have been the same.

If there had been an internet in 1919 it would have been much, much worse.

And one of those articles is from August 2015.

Violent crime is rising? I can believe that. You have deflated wages and under-employment and the areas hurt the most by that are typically in poorer areas anyway.

It is most likely cyclical. Also reading the articles, it appears they are comparing the first half of 14 to the first half of 15.

[quote]According to the Christian Science Monitor, part of the reason the increases look so high is because violent crime, including murder, has dropped so much since the 1990s. In addition, it is not yet clear that it's the beginning of a long-term increase.

"I think it's unfortunate when the media talks a lot about these crime spikes … It tends to scare the public," Inimai Chettiar, director of the Justice Program at the Brennan Center for Justice at the New York University School of Law, told the CS Monitor. "A lot of people don't even know there was a massive crime decline."[quote]
