case in point

Making cracks about someone's previous performance is not hating them. I make cracks about Mike Smith from the Falcons as well as about 100 ex-Braves. I don't hate any of them, but they all had faults that we laugh about in hindsight.

And, those were horrible memories. Those guys are right. I drove to Fayetteville one Saturday to watch us lose to Arkansas and followed it up with a trip to Gainesville the next weekend to watch us lose basically the same game. About 4 weeks later we drove up to Knoxville, a game in which Simeon picked off a pass, ran it back to the 2 yard line and everyone around us said "Welp, we won't get in the endzone now." Guess what? We didn't.

Shula was a good dude, I'm glad he is doing well, but his 4 years were 3.5 years of misery and a few months of hope in 2005 (followed up by 2 straight games of despair).

So, in conclusion, glad he is doing well, awesome that he has improved, going to make jumbo package jokes the rest of my life. I earned it.

Again, I was a college student. At Alabama. For those 4 years. You do realize how much the success or failure of Alabama football plays a part in the entire mood of campus, right? The entire fall is based around football. During my 4 years of school (the Shula era), we went 1-11 against Tennessee, LSU and Auburn.

On top of that, I clearly meant "misery" in the context of cheering for the football program.

People like you are awful. Obviously he meant misery/despair in the context of sports. Get over yourself.
