"I won't ever hate on Shula. I believe he did the best he could while here. He just wasn't ready for the job yet. And he took the job when we were at arguably the lowest point we'd been at since Ears Whitworth. He didn't do anything to shame the University and helped bring some stability back to it after the mess that ensued post-Stallings. I hope he continues to have success in the future."
Well said. I've never understood the animosity so Tide fans have towards Mike.

I think Shula was a good guy, just not the right guy. It is not like he did anything to embarrass the University, right?

He was there mainly to keep the ship afloat and make sure they didn't get in anymore trouble with the NCAA. His hands were pretty much tied with what he could as well.
