Next season? Can he improve his passing enough in the off season to become Waston like? If so the Vols will really be head and shoulders above the rest in the east.

He was a real game changer for us this season.
Will he improve as a passer, the league better hope not.

He's a poor man's Dak Prescott with zero wins vs any team from the SEC west.

"No we expect him to take a huge step back next season!!"

Yes but it depends more on our OL than it does on Dobbs. Dobbs' ability to scramble and keep D's honest masked the fact that our OL was still bad at pass pro. Dobbs rarely had time to throw and WRs rarely had time to get open. Our passing game has a lot of issues in that there's multiple spots to cleanup (OL, WR, and QB) but I think it will be fine.

He's (Dobbs) much better on the ground, but Dak is a better passer. Dobbs didn't get a redshirt year, and was thrown into the fire well before he was ready.
Dak also made huge strides as a passer as his career progressed, hopefully Dobbs can too.

Can only Vols fans! answer?
Because I personally think Dobbs is going to be a difference maker this year and think UT will win the east.

Lets be honest but there is no way Dobbs will ever get near Watson.
But Dobbs can improve significantly as a passer. If he can get more accurate and consistent and our WR's can stay healthy and run better routes then our O will be very hard to stop.
Combine that with what could be a top 3 D in the SEC and we are going to be a force.

He has one game a year where he has both 300+ yards passing and 100+ yards rushing, and he shows flashes of ability as a passer, but hasn't been consistent enough to keep our offense from getting one dimensional at times. However, our offense is set up such that we don't need 300 a game though the air to thrive. We just need enough intermediate and deep passing success to keep safeties playing back instead of in the box. That makes it easier for our strong run game to have success. Dobbs is Manziel-esque in the sense that a lot of his best plays (passing and running) often come when the play breaks down and turns to chaos. He's not a pocket passer by nature. That's why we like to run QB rollouts with an option to take off if nothing's there.

Both as sophomores Dak had more rushing TDs(13) and yards(800ish) than Dobbs(11 and 600ish). Dobbs had a higher completion percentage, more TDs, less ints, and more yards passing.

How many games did Dak play? Dobbs only played 6 games his sophomore year.
