They also have an obligation to fill seats, bring in ratings and grow a fan base. All of which is boosted by drafting UGA players when the talent level is there.

So you think it's smart to draft a position they don't need with the 8th pick so maybe a few more people will watch the game, as opposed to drafting a position desperately needed to make your team better? Just checking.

Know what fills seats more than anything else? Winning. You can't win in the NFL if you can't get after the QB.

Think about this, though, Bronc. Would you go watch a team full of UGA players that win half their games or go to see a playoff contender? MOST fans would pick the contender. And, we just missed the playoffs in spite of looking abysmal last season. And, what if Gurley had been drafted and got hurt? Or we didn't get Smith? We went with the biggest need and the best player available at that time. Good decision whether it works out or not. LOTS of picks don't work out. But you don't know if they will work out or not until the following year or two....sometimes longer.
