Based on some googling and his twitter he seems to have a great personality. If his teaching of fundamentals and scheme are great then we'll probably be pleased come next year and he will be pleased with his raise and extension of what is clearly a trial contract.

guess Pittman made a 100k pay raise and not the 25k raise originally thought.
maybe pittman negotiated it that way to make it seem like it was more about the money

The salary details for two new Georgia assistants, offensive coordinator Jim Chaney and offensive line coach Sam Pittman have been released. According to memorandum of understanding (MOU) released by UGA obtained through and open records request, both coaches will have three-year contracts with Chaney earning $850,000 annually while Pittman will earn $650,000 a year.
Chaney's salary is $100,000 less than that of Brian Schottenheimer, who held the same post in Athens for the 2015 season, while Pittman will make $250,000 more than his predecessor, Rob Sale. Pittman is in line to get a one-time payment of $250,000 on January 31 with Chaney is set to get an $85,000 payment the same day.
According to Seth Emerson of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the $250,000 received by Pittman will be for him to pay his buyout at Arkansas, which is that exact amount.
In making the move to Georgia, Pittman got a significant raise, as he was earning $550,000 with the Razorbacks. At the time of his hiring at Georgia, it was thought that the veteran offensive line coach would receive only a $25,000 pay bump.
Pittman and new receivers coach James Coley are the first football assistants in UGA history to receiver multi-year contracts without holding a coordinator title.
