My understanding is he denied every allegation that wasn't firmly documented, so we were left to believe that MSU (and ONLY MSU) offered him money for Cam's services and he went to Auburn for free despite that. Anyone with a brain can figure that if MSU was willing to pay Cam didn't go to Auburn for free. But Cam and Auburn got the benefit of the doubt.
Your understanding is poor. So we offer $180,000 but he turns us down and then we call the SEC office to inform them of how this went down?

Two former MSU players met with coaches and told them what it would take. The meeting was quickly ended. We never offered the money. We are poor.

My point was: if the price was $180k for MSU, then why did Cam go for free to Auburn?

(que Starkville joke)

But don't answer that question. No one answer that. I already apologized for this line of conversation so let's drop it.
