LSU has better returning talent and has recruited better over the last 4 years.
LSU underachieved and lost 3 games in the West while UT overachieved and lost 4 games in the East.
A Texas bowl win doesn't really factor into my rationale. Had we lost to an inferior team it would have been a big deal, like what Northwestern is going through now.

UT returns 38/44 on the 2 deep and have been recruiting very well lately. Not for a log as LSU quote yet, but we have a full complement of talent amd experience. Our qb is better.
We did not underachieve. We landed right where most had us finishing the season. That narrative is old and tired.
Yeah an "inferior" team beat the piss out of the 13th ranked team in the country.
