Where did I say his seat was even lukewarm?

Bruv, you talked about his leash. It shouldn't even be in the discussion.

quote:

If you read what I said I said the majority of Gator fans were not happy with the way our team played the last 4-5 games even with Treon at QB.

Nobody's happy about that.

quote:

Were you ecstatic or were you on the edge of your seat wondering if we were gonna pull one off against FAU and Vandy like a lot of Gator fans.

Without an offense, Mac won both of those games. You know who didn't win those games?

quote:

just as close to 7 wins as we were to 10 wins

Yeah, and he pulled those wins out with what he had. Considering where Tennessee ended and how well Vanderbilt played other teams (they did very well against better opponents) I don't even know we're criticizing Mac even a little bit at this point.

quote:

You asked me what I would've done then then bash me for giving you my opinion. I don't know how either of them would've played in a game and I never heard or saw anything about them in practice.

The question was rhetorical.

As in: You know who HAS seen them practice a lot? You know who has a background in making mediocre quarterbacks look great? You know who was a pivotal part of offenses that won championships?

These are all rhetorical, and designed to show you where you might be shooting blanks.

quote:

I was just not excited with the way the offense played the last 4-5 weeks or the way the team handled themselves at times. Did the FAU game make you wonder a bit what the heck was going on.

No, it didn't.

I know what's going on.

A defensively minded head coach recruited star running backs as linebackers.

He failed to recruit well at positions that were necessary for success on offense.

He failed to recruit:

Offensive Linemen.
A kicker.
Quarterbacks.
Wide Receivers.
Running Backs.

So essentially, he failed to recruit an entire offense and deeply limited us on depth. Grier might have saved us, but after him there wasn't a single real quarterback on the roster.

Muschamp had no excuses, Mac has every excuse to have a poor showing on offense.

quote:

Honestly I'm not sure if you mis-read or mis-comprehended it but at no time did I say I wanted Mac fired.

Never said that you did, just that your criticism is completely, utterly, unilaterally and ubiquitously misplaced. He's got at least another two years, and in my book I'd give him 3. He won the East with basically a patchwork team, clinched it way early too.

Beat the frick out of Ole Miss, would have beaten LSU at home with Grier. Some things you just can't adjust for, ever.

Having a quarterback who can't hit a flat route is one of them.

In response to someone asking about bringing in Chip Kelly telling them to give him more time (Leash=Time). Next time I will use wireless dog collar range where in that case (Range=Time). Metaphors. Mac is a dog lover so it fits.

If you read I said the difference was coaching in those games. " Like I said we were just as close to 7 wins as we were to 10 wins but I said we still won them and I believe the difference from last year in most of those games was coaching."

Then don't say "To this minority, I have to ask". Seemed like a question to me. Suggestion for next time preface rhetorical questions with word rhetorical I'm a bit slow. Have you heard of the practice reports of Guy or Grady? That's my point I haven't heard anything so I am like you said shooting blanks but its my opinion on what I would've done.

So the exact amount of time as Muschamp. If he loses to the Citadel in year 3 and goes 4-8 do you back him. Because I did with Muschamp I'm not sure I would be so ready to defend my coach a second time around since I learned my lesson the first time. My expectations by that point would be high especially with the recruiting class Mac is bringing in.

What criticism am I speaking that every other Gator fan on this board hasn't said or wondered. Go back and read most post game threads from Vandy on. Heck read this thread from the beginning. They all speak to a lack of adjustments on offense. The Zone defense Collins uses. People wondering why Guy hasn't been given a chance. Why we don't have a kicker. I'm not the first to say these things. You heard week after week about how Treon was a good runner and I wondered why we didn't see more of it. Did anyone else want maybe some designed QB runs. Most teams that cant pass seem to do that kind of thing.

Everyone associated with the team deserves criticism for the last 8 games. UF was 4-4 and is damn lucky DAMN LUCKY not to have been 2-6.

That being said, it shouldn't have any bearing on next year.

Mac gets a pass for year 1 regardless, just like any other coach, but especially when you lose your only QB on a weak offense midseason.
