Our OL problems started when Urban was almost out the door and he signed 2 OL players....then Muschamp followed suit with 2 more...but I understand somewhat why....he tried his best to build a defense that was going to be a SEC tough unit after he inherited a soft team in 2011.

Straw...you are intelligent enough to recognize that Boom took our defense and molded it into a very stout unit. The offense I'll give you but lets not forget that Driskel and Brissett were true sophs and inexperienced somewhat, it was obvious Driskel was the better QB and all one has to do is look at NC State against anyone with a pulse to see Brissett was average. In 2012, Booms second year we went to a BCS bowl...with that defense and running Gillislee.

In 2013 we had the bottom fall out with injuries and it resulted in 3rd string QB starting after LSU game. In 2014 we had mixed results and no one wanted to see it repeated.

Enter 2015 and a new HC and new promise...a year that was half and half. Painfully hard to watch after UGA. The QB situation wasnt of McElwains doing. Muschamp did recruit a lot more offensive talent in his last two years but it was too little too late. The lack of recruiting OL for 5 years came to roost.

Our defense in yesterdays game was not what anyone expected. A brilliant unit before then. My concerns on offense have been stated...but it is basically adjusting to pass rushes...not blitzs....UM didnt have to blitz. Four man front and seven in coverage makes it tough to throw. They kept safties back and we were inept at OL blocking.

Hard to make chicken salad out of chicken shite and our OL was abused....but WHY not go to max protect? Treon isnt going to scan the field for 4-5 receivers anyway. We needed him to stand in the pocket and deliver...but pass rush was immediate at times. I thought maybe we could keep throwing a lot and get the UM defense worn down in the heat....then run...well....other than Treon running in the first half....no way could we move their DL.

We didn't go to max protect (and haven't since Treon started) because our TE's are not very good blockers imo.

Our OL was salvageable, it's a complete wreck at this point.

And our defense has been stout since the Zook days, it's not our problem.

Like I said: At any time we can have upward of six freshmen on the field on offense. It's just too much, and right now we have got to just cut our losses and get into the next year.

No kicker + No QB = No points.
