Yeah, that is the correct response if you believe that the world you see is real. I'm not being sarcastic, but just because it's all you know and remember, and just because it's all you have ever seen, that doesn't make it real my friend.

Look at the world, look at all the evil, the illness, the hate, terror, the violence, the wars. Look at the take to give ratio, look at the competition, the individualism, separateness, and the I win you lose attitudes.

Does it look like a world that an all loving, all giving, perfect God would create? Would he be that sloppy? Would His creations turn against Him?

Would someone who is not sick in the mind give up all the money and pleasure to go to prison if he were of sound mind? Would someone sane, with a healthy mind kill other human beings? Maybe what is wrong with this world is not evil, but different degrees of mental illness, insanity.

Laugh and ridicule my points, call me crazy, but at least consider some of what I am saying.

Do you propose this is the work of the demiurge like the gnostics did? BTW, if you don't know what that means then I do suggest reading up on them. They align quite well with your point of view. Also, this is another good source for beginners (not perfect but it has a lot of primary texts and helps you begin to understand the various groups): LINK

Just keep in mind there are a ton of different groups that fall under the category of gnosticism (from those who resemble nothing you've ever seen/read about to those who are very close to ancient mainstream Christians like the Valentinians who trace their lineage to the Apostle Paul) so if you see a source that implies or says outright "the gnostics practiced X" as though all of them did ignore it because the likelihood of it being universal is next to nil.

Damn. In this sea of crap and troll posts, we find this gem, an actual thought-provoking, interesting post that we might learn something. Kudos. And thank you.

No, I am proposing it is the work of the mind. What you believe and make real in your mind, you will experience as real. Perception is an inward image projected outward, then seen as if it were outside of you. In reality there is no inner or outer, no space and time.

I know very little about the gnostics, but have book marked your link, thanks.

Demiurge is just another illusory entity to blame for what we see here. I'm suggesting that we ourselves did this. Not because we are bad, or evil, because we made a simple mistake, one that made this entire world rise before us.

In time this happened a very very long time ago, in Reality, it never happened at all.
