If there is one dual you go to this year, this is the one to go to. Defending National Dual Champs vs Defending NCAA National Champs.

125- #9 Barlow vs #1 Tomasello- Barlow has the defending national champ. Tomasello is a little bowling ball of power. He does have weaknesses, but is very good. Barlow needs to limit the damage if he gets down. didn't meet in vegas

133- UR Synon vs #4 DiJulius- Synon is pretty good about limiting the damage...but an interesting note that DiJulius Medical forfeited out of his last two matches in Vegas. I think DiJulius' ranking is a bit inflated, but he is still good. DiJulius won a Dec in vegas

141- #16 Manley vs #7 Micah Jordan- If there was ever a time for Manley to emerge, it is now. Jordan is a legit RSFR. Didn't face off in vegas. Can't afford any bonus points given up.

149- #4 Mayes vs UR Cody Burcher- Feel pretty confident in Mayes in this one. Needs to turn up the motor and get bonus points. Didn't face off in Vegas.

157- UR Fortuna vs #20 Jake Ryan- Ryan didn't wrestle in vegas, but is back for the dual. Gotta limit the damage.

165- #12 Lewis vs #2 Bo Jordan or UR Kresevic- Bo has been bouncing between 165 and 174. He is ranked #2 at 165 and #1 at 174. Lewis should beat Kresevic if that is who wrestles. BoJordan didn't wrestle vegas.

174- #8 Blaise Butler vs #1 Bo Jordan or UR Myles Martin Martin would be ranked if Jordan weren't here. Blaise has some serious work either way. Martin was the #3 overall recruit last year. His dad is major presence on message boards and has expressed that he thinks his son should keep the RS on.

184- #6 Miklus vs #12 Courts- Miklus got the Major against Courts in Vegas...and will likely need to repeat that performance.

197- #2 J'den vs UR Mark Martin- J'den needs bonus points in what is our best matchup of the night.

285- UR Romero vs #19 Tavanello- If Romero doesn't get pinned, you can color me happy.

I don't like the matchup. I see 3 wins for us. It would probably take an upset or 2 in the 125-141 range to win the dual. That did happen last year when Cody Johnston won at 165.

Jordan goes at 165......174
125-L DEC-0-3
133-L DEC- 0-6
141-L DEC- 0-9
149-W Maj- 4-9
157-L Maj- 4-13
165-L Maj- 4-17.....W DEC 7-13
174-W DEC- 7-17.....L DEC 7-16
184-W DEC - 10-17
197-W Maj- 14-17
285-L Pin- 14-23.......14-22.

Thanks again 5th. Really think we're too overmatched to win this but I am excited to see how competitive we are as a team and at certain weights.

Really excited to see what Barlow can do. I haven't been following wrestling long but it already seems like Tomasello has been around forever. I agree. I think Tomasello gets the decision but I'm really looking for McGhee to make a statement that he's a legit threat.

Synon ain't great. Trying to be nice. Just not a fan. Maybe he'll change that in me this year. This would do it instantly but not gonna happen. Just don't get pinned.

If we're going to win this tough match ups, guys like Manley are going to have to step up. I've liked what I've seen from him for the most part this year but just a tough match up. I'm calling an upset here.

Mayes has got to equal bonus points in this match up. He's capable. I just question his mental approach and focus sometimes. Matches like this will tell us if he's matured in that part of his game.

Fortuna. I don't get. If any freshman were going to burn a RS, I would have liked to have seen Jaydin at 133. He's a sacrificial lamb here. Just don't give up big points. He did continue to battle last week but he's just way overmatched.

Kind of view this one much like McGhee's match up, assuming he gets Jordan. A chance to make a statement as a legit threat even if losing a tough decision.

Butler = See McGhee and Lewis

I have a feeling Miklus is gonna shine this year. Think it starts here. He really has seemed to have found that zone or that focus. Hopefully it continues.

Cox has to get motivated by that #2 by his name. Use it as a reason to dominate matches, not just win.

Romero...well I could probably do just as well. At 46, I bet I can avoid at least one shot at my legs. Romero can't say that.

Dylan Wisman is the only one who ended up wrestling. There were some major problems logistically with the tournament and all the unattached wrestlers.

But Wisman did really well. Got 4th. Lost to the same guy twice. He's competing with nationally ranked guys, and beating some. Really glad this transition will be easy with Blaise graduating and Wisman stepping in without much (or any )letdown.

Romero taken down but rolled on top. Was up 7-2 but finished 1st 7-7. Hopefully just means no bonus points.

And another stall. 5-0 followed by a take down. 7-0 McGhee looks horrible.

And fricking McGhee taken down again. 9-1 now. Riding time to make it 10-1. We're getting our asses kicked.

Now 0-10
