Do any of you duck hunt and if so how is it on the coast near Edisto?
A friend of mine asked me today and I didn't really know. I've never paid any attention to water fowl down there, but I never go during the winter either. Would it be worth it to get a group to go down there within the next few weeks?

My Son and I duck hunt from Arkansas to here ... Santee is excellent. Edisto can be very good.
Ironically, today we got the Geenhue ready, practiced a few new calls, patterned the shotguns.

Rooster is right, Santee is where you want to go. Check out the harvest report for last year to get an idea of where to go this year.

Thanks for the info guys
I've never been duck hunting like what I'm about to do. I'm use to going to my mothers property and catching Woodies, and the occasional Mallard, fly over at the crack of dawn and be done in an hour. This sounds more like a half/whole day thing. I'm stoked

I have two buddies who hunt some swamp land off of the Black River near Andrews, SC on the Georgetown/Williamsburg county line, and they seem to do pretty well. I have never really gotten into duck hunting, but it is something I want to try.

Same here, never duck hunted. Primarily stick to deer, turkey, and predators. Met a guy in the archery shop a few weeks back who has a hog problem and he invited me over in January, so I'm going to give that a go.
With that said, duck hunting has piqued my interest and is definitely something I'd like to try.

If you need a hog killing buddy, let me know.

I carry every time I go in the woods, so no worries there. We'll be bowhunting them, it'll make it a rush for sure. I'll be ready to climb a tree and hold on if necessary I guess.
