Connor called the Bama staff (not the other way around) and committed on Signing Day Eve evening about 8:00 PM. Said he would sign with Bama. Had given every indication throughout the process that he was leaning to UA (at least to our staff and many around him). Around midnight (literally), Connor's house was paid a visit.
As Lavarus Giles' mom famously said: "Deys millionaires in da house!". I'm sure this isn't the only place this happens, nor the only recruit. But in this case, people weren't very careful on who they told.
For all I know, Simmons might WANT to go to OM. But I hope it doesn't become an all-out nasty bidding war to the well-known, famous level that Chris Jones was.

No he didn't. Drew knows the real story. Vonn Bell went to Ohio state and that's when Alabama went all in.
