You act like Freeze takes these guys and puts them all in the draft early. In reality, that has only happened for the guys who were gone after 3 years regardless. See CJ and Channing, or for that matter Gross. These were all kids of Simmons caliber, and they have all been developed very little or in Gross's case just not prepared for the next level at all.

Jones had his best year at State this year. Missou and then Arky are the best games I've seen him play at State, he absolutely dominated the line of scrimmage in both, to say he has regressed is laughable. He was recruited as a DE and has been molded into what will be an elite NFL DT. He hasn't gotten the exposure that some others have but not due to lack of development, the guy he split time with for 2 years is currently playing on Sunday's. You are smart enough to know the strides he had to make from playing as a 265 pound DE in rural MS to a 6'6" 305 pound SEC DT. You're also smart enough to know that he's going to have a much better pro career because of it.

I'm know you know football, I know you know that all recruits aren't created equal. Why then compare these kids from the middle of nowhere in MS to the most polished HS DL recruit maybe ever? They aren't playing the same game, they aren't the same projects.

So what you are saying is Jones is such a stud and progressed so much under the watchful eyes of your NFL d velociraptor that he is leaving early?

All that can be said right now is it is a crap shoot where he ends up. I am biased, as are every poster on here, but I think the situation at Ole Miss is more promising right now and that has to impact the young mans perspective at least a tad bit.

All I did was read your first sentence and had to stop. Dude... Perception= Reality. Does it matter that Saban has the most talent by a huge margin yet doesn't win the title every year and has put less guys in the league than Miles? No. He is still perceived as the guy who can get his players to the league because of what he does with 1st round three and gone kids. They could have gone to Alaska and be 3 and gone. Doesn't matter. Perception=reality.

Chris Jones wasn't a project just because he flew under the radar for so long. He eventually got his fifth star because he dominated in just his second year of every playing ball being his senior year. The fact the RN improved each year when he was so "polished" (never played DT in his life) is more of a testament to OM's development. Chris was better than Rob as a freshman and had a terrible sophomore year with a junior year leaving him out of the first round while Robert was an AA last year and projected first rounder.

This whole development argument is so stupid. It's something y'all came up with to justify recruiting like shite. Y'all have crazy coaching turnover and y'all didn't invent the wheel. Balis or any other S&C isn't doing anything that any other competent program doesnt do. This is not Houston Nutt. That theory doesn't fit when the guy who is out recruiting you also can develop, evaluate, and run a competent, efficient program.
