I won't own a Taurus. My FIL has a couple and he likes them but I don't.

If price is an issue plenty of traded in former police issued Glocks floating around out there. Some under $300. Buy one of those and take it to the factory in Smyrna. They will go through it FOR FREE, replace what is worn out, give you new magazines and boom....you have a great reliable pistol that has all new internals.

I did that with a Gen 2 G22 that I bought for peanuts. Paid an extra $50 for night sights. Took them less than 2 hours. I went and ate at the Chick-Fil-a down the road while I waited.

I own a number of handguns and a few rifles and have shot a bunch of different type of firearms ... and by far, the most fun I have had at the range is shooting my 9mm Carbine. It's just a ton of fun. They are also incredibly accurate out to 100 yards so perfect for a home defense weapon. Obviously not good for concealed carry. And the longer barrel gives you better muzzle velocity and stopping power without the added recoil.

So, with all that said, I am currently looking at the CZ-USA Scorpion 9mm. 7.75 Inch Barrel, picatinny rail and you can by an arm brace for it. Instant fun and great home protection.
