Shows he has been a part of your class since August 29th. 6' and around 200lbs.

4* on rivals and a 3* on 247

Don't know much about him other than the fact that up until recently he was a grade risk which lowered his ranking on recruiting sites.

Why are you asking?

Seems as though Arkansas is getting an official from him.

Wish he was bigger.

In a similar mold as Whaley. We took Boyd first.

Seems like a pretty good back, but it sounded like there may be some grade issues associated with him getting into A&M. He may be looking for a back-up option.

While the average student will have more trouble getting into A&M than Ark (not taking a shot, just how it is) we have the same minimum standards as most everyone else. We're not Notre Dame, Stanford, Vandy(?), or Rice.

Basically if a player can qualify at Arkansas then he can for A&M too. Unless its a HS issue and he's moving to an out of state high school ala Craig Loston (had to reach back a few years).

If he can't get into aTm, he can't get into Arkansas.

I like Boyd a lot. Just as much as Whaley.

A few weeks ago it was said Whaley wanted on board but we had already accepted trayveon Williams commitment.

There was some scuttle that we may part ways.

I want to take 3 RB this year.

Would like to see us take 3. Too many questions at that position for next year.

If we are taking 2 it may be Boyd has screwed himself with Sumlin by taking this OV.

I'm sure he'll have a soft landing at where ever he visits. Sumlin would be dumb to pull something like that though if we don't have someone like Whaley ready to commit.

He's a good back. Lots of people think he's as good as any back in Texas. Rumors of eligibility questions. Something is definitely up with Devwah's decommit and Boyd's visit. Y'all should be excited if y'all get Boyd.

The minimum standards are "not" the same. The minimum standards for the athletic department are set by the NCAA, but the school doesn't have to and chooses not to abide by them. Our standards are quite high (look below). They also levy additional requirements from time to time. I was accepted by Stanford, but A&M made me take some state certified exams. Tony Trocha was approved by the NCAA for a full academic year, before the athletic department let him in for ESL (English as Second language).

Texas A&M
SAT 1300 public/ 1500 private school*
ACT 30*

Arkansas
SAT 930
ACT 20

*Combined SAT score of at least 1300 (Math and Critical Reading) with at least a 600 in each of these components, or composite ACT score of at least 30 with at least a 27 in the Math and English components,1500 if you went to a Private school.

Correct. Both schools accept the minimum set by the NCAA.

Is that something you can qualify or are you making judgements based upon his appearance and /or background?

Grades don't affect recruiting grades like that. BJ Emmons is dumber than a doornail and him even qualifying is a longshot, but his ranking has stayed steady.

I cannot speak for every grade risk, but they have in the past.

Well if they do, that's dumb.
