To go sit behind kaya at a place with far fewer resources and players he has never met at a school he has never been to? Doubtful but it's a nice gesture and worth checking out

It is possible. He seems to have a strong bond with Richt and he should go where he feels he has the best opportunity to make it to the next level. Hope he sticks to UGA though.

It's UGA or UF. UM already has qb commits and kaaya

UF already has commits and treon

seems uga would be the place to go.
i'm not all over the situation. just wondering if his commitment to richt is more than his commitment to uga.

I feel it is either UGA or Miami at this point. I can promise you that one of the selling points to Richt to Miami is getting to work with QB's again and call plays. Because of that and the relationship with Richt it's Miami or UGA.

uf still has grier and del rio. i don't see eason going uf at all. even if franks decommits i don't see it.
kaaya is gonna be a jr next year and is injury prone, so eason would still have a good two to three years as a starter there.
i think eason could start at uga from day 1.

If he cancels his visit to our gala I'll start worrying.

I don't have any "sources" or anything on Eason, but the general buzz coming out of his visit is that he loved it and to not be surprised if he ends up at Florida. Our lead recruiting reporter, who tends to give a fair report of whether or not he thinks a kid ends up at Florida, said there's a better than 50% chance that Eason ends up at UF.
The dude is a stud and I hope he stays as far away from UGA as possible.

The last UF recruiting reporter with real sources was Higdon. There is a reason he covers Texas now.
The rest are reading tea leaves.

His parents were in Athens while he was in Gainesville on the OV. Still coming to his OV at UGA and word is we will be hiring Tyson Helton as our OC who is very pass-heavy in his offense.

He tweeted that out on Dec 1, pretty much right when Eason landed in Gainesville, right? His "better than 50%" estimate was based solely on the fact that he was visiting after Richt got canned, not based on anything that happened during the visit.
Facts is facts - he has 10 days until the dead period. 3 of those days will be taken up by his visit (with his family, who have all visited Athens multiple times) at UGA's gala weekend.
As porter said...when he cancels that UGA visit, I will start worrying. We should have our staff in place by then. He has invested way too much time in UGA, Athens, other UGA commits, and current UGA teammates for one OV to UF to move the needle too much.
Same with Miami. He has one week to get acquainted with the program, Richt's staff (who hasn't even been named yet), other commits, etc...the dude has been seeing through red and black glasses for a year and a half. It is certainly possible for him to change his mind, but he and his father have been so methodical about the entire recruiting process that it is unlikely they make that big of a decision on such short notice.
Just my thoughts. It has certainly gotten interesting lately!

#UGA commit Jacob Eason arrived in Gainesville for his #UF OV, sans his parents. Eason family in Athens this weekend

Interesting. So his family will be there two weekends in a row? I almost wonder if that tweet was inaccurate and meant they would be there next weekend (gala weekend).

FWIW, LSU's Sonny and Shea are being badgered with questions about Eason affecting Franks, being handed a chance to pump sunshine to subscribers, and aren't taking the bait. They said Eason's interest in UF is legit but more as an insurance policy. Unless UGA royally fricks up the OC hire, he'll be a dawg, and Franks will stick with UF.

I almost took it as they were here this past weekend but I'm not too sure. I figured that if they had a layover in Atlanta (as was reported) that they may have headed over to Athens while Jacob went to Gainesville.

Makes sense. Either way, his family has been in Athens multiple times, which is obviously good for us.
Also the dead period only affects UF and Miami, so while they are cut off Kirby and co will be able to stay in constant contact through Eason's enrollment. I see him sticking.

0% chance he goes to Miami. Athens>Miami, Playing in front of people> playing in front of no one, playing immediately> sitting behind Keya.
