There was a time when Alabam, Auburn, and LSU could depend on the Mississippi schools for wins. We only had to worry about beating each other since those schools rarely had the coaching and talent to achieve the win

Things have changed and this has been the hardest adjustment. Throw in A&M and the Big 3 will have to adapt quickly to maintain their hold at the top

It really just shifted. Instead of Arkansas and Auburn being good it's now State and Ole Miss.

But, let's be honest, the conference has been dogshit this year.

Meh. I still think of those schools as should be wins. Whenever we don't beat those schools, you know we are not nearly good enough for 9 wins a season.

We've just started letting Ole Miss beat us a few times instead of LSU or Auburn. You guys lose to everyone normal plus them.

Alabama last 5 years
Ole Miss : 3-2
MSU : 5-0
Arky : 5-0
A&M : 3-1
AU : 4-1
LSU : 5-1

Before the Chizik era, we never had issues beating Ole Miss or State. We struggled with Arkansas on the road but that was it

State used to be a serious thorn in our side during the Sherrill era. The Ole Miss thing is new, obviously.

it should be becoming increasingly clear to you, that you wont be winning 9 or more games a year very often anymore then. because the landmass schools kicking auburns arse is becoming commonplace lately. and not likely to change for a while. (cant speak for little brother state college, but Ole Miss will be looking down on Auburn in the standings for the forseeable future. deal with it)

A&M came in thumping their chests but I think over time they will show why they arent any different than Texas. All that money and they have no fricking clue how to manage a program. They overpay just because they can and they have fizzled out the last two years.

Yeah, I was initially concerned about A&M but not so much anymore. Arky is more streaky and inconsistent than Auburn so they'll never be a legit threat.

The Mississippi schools are the strongest they've been in decades. I actually gained respect for Mullin pulling his team together despite the loss of players and projections to finish last.

I'm interested to see whether it's sustainable

Meh, Croom beat 2 pretty awful teams, and the 2nd one in 2007 he probably had the better team anyway.

Those Sherrill teams beat a few pretty good Alabama teams.

I agree, without those 2 moe-rons and TAMU, we'd never finish worse than 4th!

A&M was notoriously gracious and humble coming in to the SEC. Mizzou was the one running their politically correct mouths.
