A lot of smoke on twitter that weird Zach is Durkin's #1 candidate

@DanWolken Tennessee assistant Zach Azzanni will be a candidate to join Durkin as Maryland’s OC, per source. Worked together under Urban, close friends

Please yes. I'm tired of UT taking our WR recruits.

I'm ready for Azzani to frick off. Our wide receivers were the biggest weakness on the offense this year

I support his transition to Maryland 100%. "Passing game coordinator" my arse.

When you have as much talent at WR as UT does and you're leading reciever finishes the regular season with 388 yards.. that's fricking bush league.

Good recruiter, then goes on to do nothing with said recruits, won't miss him too much.

We've never had a problem taking your WR recruits with any coach. Z is a good recruiter but I question his coaching of the WRs (I think he overcomplicates it).

In the last ten years besides Z's WRs who else have you gotten from us besides Da'Rick?

You didn't want Justin Hunter? Jason Croom? Getting WRs at UT has never been a problem whether they are from Georgia or elsewhere.

If Prof doesn't compliment Azzani, you know he's bad

I'm pretty sure Justin Hunter is from Virginia. Now that I think about it -- has Azzani pulled any big time recievers from Georgia outside of Preston Williams? I can't think of any

We didn't go after Hunter. We did want Croom though.

I was thinking of North and Malone.

Sorry, I didn't just mean from Ga. We've battled for some of the best in the nation the last few years.

I thought y'all didn't recruit Croom? At least that's what my memory and limited following of recruiting remembers.

Are we talking about the kid that went to AU first?

I've been patient because of our roster situation and OL which can really mess with the entire offense but the one constant every year through multiple QBs and even when we had a good pass pro line has been bad play by the WRs. Hell despite the injuries he's struggled with this year, North was better as a true freshman who had played QB in HS before Z's coaching took effect. OTOH, when CBJ babysat the WRs Josh Malone suddenly turned into a badass against Bama. The entire WR corps stepped up when CBJ started working with them and it was a night and day difference.

We are WRU and there's no goddamned reason for the poor play we've had from our WRs. Although he's done well Von gets lost a few times a game, Josh Smith is the only one who can run a decent route/get separation, Malone is inconsistent despite being gifted and on and on -- coaching issues every one. Hell Azzani rotates WRs so much that as soon as one finds a rhythm, he's on the sidelines for a bit. Contrast that to Coach G who goes with the hot runner - although Hurd always gets the main workload when Kamara is running hot he gets more reps in a row. But Z won't do that.

The other position coaches have by and large done a good job and progressively gotten better. The secondary was a bit of a disappointment earlier this season but they've gotten better with health and experience.

I mean we've improved everywhere every single year EXCEPT at WR.

No Croom is a jumbo-sized WR and big redzone threat (been injured all year) from Norcross. He had an offer from Georgia and many others.
