QB - Kyler Murray: 72-121-7, 686 yards, 5 TD, 53 carries, 335 yards, 1 TD. Team's 2nd leading rusher, but clearly needed a RS year at QB
QB - Jake Hubenak: 12-27-0, 92 yards, 1 TD, 4 carries, 9 yards. Not sure if he would have been more effective with more playing time
RB - Kendall Bussey and Jay Bradford both redshirted
WR - Christian Kirk: 70 catches, 925 yards, 6 TD, 10 carries, 45 yards, 14 PR, 341 yards, 2 TD, 18 KR, 348 yards (112 touches, 1659 APY, 8 TD) Everything advertised and more, team's leading receiver and all-purpose yardage leader
WR - Damion Ratley: 15 catches, 200 yards, 2 TD Needed to play far less. Unless he has a Derel Walker-like 2nd season, he is useless to us
WR - Kemah Siverand: redshirted
TE - Jordan Davis: 2 catches, 7 yards, 1 TD why the hell do we even sign Tight Ends if we don't use them as blockers or receivers?
OL - Keaton Sutherland: starting LG I sincerely hope he improves or we're in serious trouble
OL - Connor Lanfear: burned RS for garbage time why...just why?
OL - Erik McCoy and Trevor Elbert both redshirted
QB - Jake Hubenak: 12-27-0, 92 yards, 1 TD, 4 carries, 9 yards. Not sure if he would have been more effective with more playing time

Kirk is the real deal but I do hope he works on ball security. One dropped punt and two fumbled kickoffs in different games (and really should be 3 as I think he fumbled again against LSU that wasn't called). I don't want another Dustin Harris, he's a home run or strike out type guy back there.
Murray most definitely needed a RS, it's just frustrating how the QB situation was handled.
It still boggles my mind that we can get good TEs to come here, hope Davis gets a few more passes his way next year.
Agreed on ratley, dude must kill it in practices because he dropped way too many passes this year. Not sure why we didn't see more of pope of tabyou.
Agreed that Sutherland looked pretty bad most times, and I have no comment on the other OL. It's definitely our biggest concern on offense right now.

Nice analysis. Still seems like a good class.

I will never, ever understand why coaches do this, but it seems to be something that happens a lot.

100% agree. Doesn't come back to the ball and isn't aggressive at all.

Is it common to RS someone outside their freshman year? Because this is one instance when it would be beneficial.

Hopefully new OC learns about this position, that it exists.

We're probably in serious trouble.

I may be able to shed some light. Typically what you see during garbage time is 2nd string, or a very close 3rd. If you are 2nd string you are practicing and as involved as the 1st string. This is a different level of practice, preparation, and experience than the true redshirt status. That experience tends to transfer better to the next year than that of a traditional redshirt. And, although 3 or 4 series of game experience doesn't seem like much, it breeds some nice confidence going forward.
