As others have said, he is a smart kid. He has been in contact with other schools this whole time, so it's not like taking a visit and meeting with Leach is something out of the blue.
I wish everyone would keep their heads. He has already said he is committed to the school, and that it would take a drastic change in offensive philosophy to change his mind. I don't know why people are thinking we have to wait until Alabama plays their playoff games to announce something...we will announce our coach on Monday, and Eason will have plenty of time to evaluate everything.
He is extremely close to Big Ben, who has guaranteed himself to be a Dawg, and he has had the last year and a half to visualize himself at UGA.
If he does go elsewhere, it will be because we made a crazy hire, and at that point we would be starting from scratch anyways.
R-E-L-A-X.

Decisions have consequences. McGarity had to know that losing some of this upcoming recruiting class was a potential repercussion. Now hire a HC with a proven innovative offense so that we can start attracting duel-threat/athletic QB's. We don't seem to be able to build a good pro-style OL so we may as well compensate with an offense that provides more options.

For the record, if he decommits from UGA we will face sanctions a la LSU.

Unimited contact from him signing his GIA papers

You realize Eason is still committed, right?

yes, we can have unlimited contact because he's signed the financial papers.
If he willingly chooses to decommit we would not longer be able to do that.
So again, how could we possibly face sanctions?

Yep, and I hope we can still reel him in but he is looking around for a reason and frankly I don't blame him.

a reason for what? To leave?
That's retarded, if he wanted to leave he would have done it lunchtime Sunday. It's going to take a major, major shakeup for eason not to come. This is just covering all his bases, which is smart.

We would face penalties for violating contact rules. NCAA added that so players wouldn't sign agreements with multiple schools.

Because as dumb as it sounds, if he goes elsewhere, we get a secondary violation. However, it's usually a suspension from recruiting of the coach who contacted him. It's one of the dumbest rules out there. Happened a couple of times over the last 2 years. It's trying to prevent everyone from signing FA papers with every school and getting them all unlimited visits. It's fricking stupid
