The over looked aspect of the 2004 teams (Auburn vs USCw) is the overwhelming amount of NFL talent Auburn had compared to USCw.
If you remove some of the Freshman who didn't play but eventually got drafted from USCw Auburn was superior or equal in talent to USCw at every position on the field. We had several guys have much more successful NFL careers...USCw benefitted from past performances and the media love affair with them. Many of those overhyped players were draft bust not making it out of their NFL rookie contract. Auburn on the other hand had several guys go the UDFA route and make it past a rookie contract time frame in the NFL. USCw 2004 was a creation of media fantasy. Auburn beats the breaks off of them in 2005 if they had gotten the shot.
