This whole event stemed from a loss of health care benefits for grad students?

Maneater timeline of events.
Essentially, a rich guy is pissed that grad students lost their health care, so he goes on the offensive. Using systemic racism as a ploy.
The faculty jump on board as an excuse to dump the leadership they don't like.
Football team is co-opted into the bullshite by being fed a bullshite story about hunger strikes and unity.
Race issues are now worse at the university, and the very group fighting for the cause create a segregated environment on campus so the can "decompress and be real".
Congrats, you have managed to take someone who supported your rights when this began and completely turned him against your cause and everything you stand for.
This was never about "systemic racism", it was about losing benefits, distention in the ranks of faculty, and creating more subversion on campus in the name of social activism.
This is all made up bullshite. I can't believe anyone is still buying this load of shite.

Yup.
But the President did run over him with his car.

Pretty much, but I can certainly believe that people are buying this bullshite.
I sure wish Butler would have went to Arkansas instead.

I very much enjoyed you before all of this started, in time I still may.
But with all of this bullshite you spouted off when this was first getting started my only instinct is to hate you and be hurt by your words.

Wow, that would have turned this tragic situation hilarious.
If it happened anywhere else, funny, but if it happened to the piggies that would have been sooooo classic.

I made an assumption that there were real problems on campus.
I'll maintain that assumption, the world isn't a perfect place.
I also felt that Wolfe didn't get in front of things in a timely fashion. I see now that he was a bug on the windshield of a Mack truck driven by faculty and activists.
He never had a chance.
Whatever problems exist or existed on campus, there are now a whole new set of problems.
So, these new problems will create more "activism", in the name of "activism".
And around and around we go.
I've swung around on this issue 180 degrees, it's not about what the masses think it's about. It's not about bringing light to social problems and affecting change, it's about creating more social problems and divisiveness in the name of activism.
Real poverty and systemic racism in inner cities and institutions isn't going to go away because a rich kid started a protest at a university. None of this addresses any of the real problems going forward, it just creates new ones.
That's what this group wants. No solutions, only problems.

You're not alone. I bought into this load of crap too. The more I hear the more I get pissed. No body likes to get rode. I feel the same exact way. Made me say some things I normally wouldn't have because I simply couldn't believe that they wouldn't spin this shite the way they did. They no longer have my support. The media needs to start exposing it for what it is, a witch hunt.
I have a question. Anyone. I've wondered this from day one. Why couldn't the campus police have arrested Butler for attempted suicide? I know it was a hunger strike, but the potential of self inflicted death is there. I don't see starving yourself much different than any other form of suicide, it's just slower.

I accept your apology
Posted on 11/12/15 at 8:01 pm to Mizzoufan26
That wasn't an apology.
I still think you're a baby back bitch for becoming a Tennessee fan at the drop of a hat.
You and kills' shuckin and jivin act to incite the rant mob was nothing short of pathetic, but I get it, emotions were high.
Perhaps I'll forgive you someday as well.
I'm ready to get back to football and, god forbid, basketball talk now. Except with you, you're a Tennessee fan.

We are coached by a man who wasn't smart enough to stop this
Led by a team unable to see they were being used
Fall under an admin that wouldn't defend the people they put in place
In a state where the legislators bow down without any facts in front of them
Excuse me for running from that dumpster fire immediately
The rant has been good as a whole regarding this situation as well, shouldn't be butt hurt about the truth
And based on your last response you suck at apologizing

You can always follow the money. In the uproar, that was forgotten. Very well played by the protesters. Very well played.
The protesters insist they didn't reach out to the football team. But I did see that Payton Head and Anthony Sherrils are fraternity brothers. Not sure what other players may be Alphas, but that's a connection - Payton to the protesters, Sherrils to the team. That may have nothing to do with it, but it's a possibility.
I don't doubt that there may be some racial issues on campus - there are on most campuses. But I think it's far from the hotbed of oppression it's being painted.
And the real tragedy here? People who would be sympathetic are now extremely skeptical. Racism is evil. But like girls who falsely claim rape hurt all victims of sexual assault, these protestors are really hurting those who are actually oppressed.

I was just messin', kinda.
I know it's hard for you to see that you were a pawn in their faux outrage. Most of those guys want to see our program go back to the stone ages, they likely don't give a shite about the real issue at hand.
Letting the hate flow through you was pure schadenfreude for them, nothing else. Make no mistake, they are enjoying the hell out of this, and would like nothing more than for us all to become a shattered and divided team/school/fanbase.
Just as I refuse to fall for the bs at Mizzou, I refuse to fall for the bs around here. No one has our best interests in mind except us.

If you hadn't noticed, we are on the doorstep of stone age to begin with. Mizzou is not a threat and never has been a threat to anything resembling sustained success in this conference. We do not recruit well enough to beat the big teams, and aren't fixing that before this and certainly not now.
This is an epidemic across the country, but we are ground zero at the moment, I don't think they are getting joy out of this, it's sad times for everyone. This is so much larger than football and it's disgusting.

I just think the narrative would be different for most of those guys if this was happening at any other school. Except maybe aTm.
Sure, they'd be upset at the overall story/conspiracy, but they probably wouldn't be making threads about kicking (insert school here) out of the sec.
I made a comment in a thread a week or two ago about Loftin and said that leftists, SJWs, and PP wouldn't ruin our football team, shitty coaching would.
I stand corrected. Both have conspired to ruin things this season.
I'll choose to keep the faith though, I don't have as much invested in Mizzou as some of you, so maybe it's easier for me to move on and just get back to caring about sports.
I'm looking forward to seeing if this team can come together on the field, not just this year but next year too.
That's what being a fan is I guess, right?
