Let this be a lesson. Cop knocks, go outside and close the door behind you. His access is now cut off and he needs a warrant after that. He actually thinks you're being nice and compliant by coming outside.
Close the door behind you!
Simple as this right here. It is incredibly easy to avoid getting your arse kicked by the police. First and best way is avoid doing things that would place yourself in a position to even have an adversarial confrontation.
Trying to slam the door on and officer that's in a place where he has a legal right to be violates that very simple first rule.
Going outside will make the officer think you're cooperating. In this case, it would have also kept his almost-certainly-drunk friend from throwing fuel on the fire by antagonizing everyone with their peanut gallery advice.

Some college kids and their attorneys are about to get paid.

This is of course true, but it's a second question.
There are two issues at play:
Should you show any disrespect to a police officer? The wise answer is no
But people who so often defend police after these videos ignore another important question: How should tax payer supported employees behave in the face of disrespect?
The answer to that is almost certainly not to behave the way these officers did.
Were the guys getting roughed up wise? No
Were the tax payer supported government employees acting like lawless thugs? Yes
We don't draft police. They apply out of free will and we pay their salary. Asking them to not beat the dog shite out of someone being rude isn't too much.
None of what I said obviously applies if you're a far left statist who thinks the government is perfect.
