Yup. I don't even want to think what it would cost to buy all the land you'd need let alone the equipment.

Yeah, I've seen something similar with my family in Iowa. I hope one of my cousins steps up but most of them moved to either Des Moines or Cedar Rapids. My mom's side of the family has been farming in Iowa since the 1850s.

Same with my dad's side. My oldest cousin actually has an agriculture degree from ISU (hates the Cyclones though ) but he's used it to become the head groundskeeper at a country club golf course in Chicago and he makes good money and enjoys the city life so I doubt he'll move back home when his dad retires.
