I like Tuscaloosa. The old style of downtown reminds me of a much larger Hammond, LA, where I lived for a while. Campus is beautiful. My in-laws live on Lake Tuscaloosa, which is great. The bar scene is very good as well.

Birmingham-Tuscaloosa is what BR-Hammond would be if LSU was in Hammond.

BDS is also a fantastic venue. You won't find a nicer stadium that large (except Jerry World) and that loud. The atmosphere is great, and everything to do pregame is right outside the stadium. There are several SEC schools who offer up a fantastic game day experience, and Bama is one of them. Not sure why would anyone would trash it.
