(Serious question, not trolling)

Difference in what? They already lost to vandy.

They would be undefeated in the East.

So fat rails for everyone?

probably not...but it's fun drama for the fans to tease around a bit considering our season has hit the skids. We have a bye week this weekend. Therefore, we have two weeks to dream up "what ifs" that will excite some of us and worry others. More than likely we'll crash back to reality after our next game...but the next two weeks will be fun!
I'm all about fun so I'll take it and run!

It could make a slight difference because Mauk is a scrambling QB with good footspeed who can tuck and run when the play breaks down.
Right now, Mizzou's plays are breaking down on literally every snap.
The O-line gives zero protection.
So its better to have a scrambler in there who can do something with his legs.
All that said, I'm still not sure Mauk will actually see the field again. He has gone a month without being able to practice or work out with the team. He may not be in the best of shape. This might just be a PR move to let the kid be able to say he was "still on the team" and then transfer somewhere next year without being labeled as having gotten "kicked off" Mizzou.
But then again we just scored 3 points against Vandy. Desperate times, desperate acts and all.

Regardless...it'll be a fun two weeks of speculation

What do all the crazies who were convinced Mizzou's offense could be fixed by benching Mauk and inserting Lock say now?
It really is a conundrum. Because no matter what one's stance was on Mauk, its literally impossible for the offense to get any worse if he comes back.

One thing we've discovered is that Mauk is the best running back on the team. Lock would go three and out instead of make a play happen with his feet.
If we had scored just one touchdown each of the past 3 games, we'd be a different team right now.
Mauk could've easily scored one touchdown by just running down field.
Look, I'll be first to admit that I overhyped Lock. I truly believe he'll end up being Mizzou's best QB, but clearly he wasn't ready this year.

He led to Mizzou to two consecutive SEC East titles. Mizzou going undefeated rest of season.

Yup. Truly would have made a difference the last three games when teams would drop 8 into coverage. His legs are so undervalued....and now that Mizzou fans have seen what kind of offense the rest of the team is, I think he can relax and get back to being Good Maty again.

Still hate that we didn't redshirt him this season. If Mauk performs well, what happens for next season?
Just glad we might finally have a running back that might actually be able to play.
So the the OP....YES, he definitely makes a difference.
