I did a complete double take on this..I hadn't even heard that he had a gf, much less that she was pregnant.

The part of the article where he talks about being afraid he'll break him and that he can carry him around in one hand bc he's so small made me smile for some reason. I have a feeling Jadeveon is going to be a great dad.

If his son turns out to be Clowney 2.0 I hope and pray I'm still around to see it.

Baby Momma is 5-10, ran track for Curtis Frye, is a big Gamecock fan, pulled down a 4.1 GPA graduated with honors.

Yeah. For all the "effort issues" people like to pile on him, he really did seem like a good guy. Outside of a couple of speeding tickets he never got in trouble, never got in a fight, not sure if he even went out all that much. (I've at least never heard of anyone running into him in 5 pts or wherever, doesn't mean he didn't go but it certainly wasn't enough to get a Garcia reputation if he did)

Same goes for fan interactions. I've never met the dude but I have a couple of FB friends who have pics with him where they just ran into him randomly like at a Gamestop or wherever. He always has a big smile on his face.

He is genuinely a good, nice, person. Very soft spoken, in a shy sort of way, around strangers but funny as heck once he gets comfortable with you. Does not drink, is anti-pot or any other drug. Was always where he was supposed to be, never had to be told to go to class. Rarely drove anywhere, his girlfriend at the time usually drove his car. Never asked for or expected anything special that others were not getting. Was always there to help his friends when they needed it ... if he could. Doesn't know how to lie.

Now for the cons.

Probably could have worked harder in the weight room - but he was naturally strong and he always met his goals.

He spent a lot of time in hot and colds ... he was a little susceptible to pain, had a low threshold, hated needles or taking pills. In spite of all of this he still played with pain most of the time.

I don't think he was ever really challenged in a college game except at LSU and he was throwing up and had a fever in the locker room before that game. (Remember, everyone else caught it and had it the next week at Florida.)

He spent a lot of time doing community service work, especiay with kids at hospitals, but never asked for praise or a pat on the back ... usually he would make arrangements to go in the back way like Marcus showed him ... they would sneak them in and up to the children's ward.

Marcus and JD will be two more of my favorite players forever. And like Marcus, one day JD will end-up back here working with USC as an ambassador of sorts.
