2013: In hindsight, I still maintain that going 8-4 with arguably the best college QB ever should have set off all kinds of alarms. Even Gene Chizik won a title with Cam and he is an objectively terrible coach. It is almost unfathomable that you lose 4 games with a QB like that, no matter how bad the defense is.
Not firing Snyder after 2013 was also confusing. Coordinators at major FBS programs rarely keep their jobs after finishing dead last in the NCAA in their field of "expertise". This alone cost us several games in 2014.
The promotion of Clarence McKinney, a career mid major position coach with no playcalling experience, to OC was just dumb. Go out and get a real playcaller. The fact that he is still on our staff in any capacity is amazing.
2014: The promotion of Jake Spavital was the same mistake, second verse. 29 year old with no career pay calling experience even at a lower level. Even KK called plays at UH.
BJ Anderson....
59-0, that should never happen to a major conference program like ours. Ever, under any circumstance. Everyone quit that day.
Losing to an LSU team at home that themselves had quit. They didn't want to be there and ran the most vanilla game plan ever and STILL won. Sumlin couldn't beat a team that stopped trying a week before.
2015: More blowouts to teams with a pulse. Starting an obviously injured QB just makes it worse.
There are other things as well: Constantly losing big home games (1-6 against ranked teams at Kyle), constant issues in the locker room, ignoring entire position groups in recruiting, etc.
I think we're going to look back 2-3 years from now and say we should have seen this coming, all the signs were there.

This puts my overwrought timeline thread to shame
