I don't think you can put that much blame on stoops for clock management. That run play was called on the field while the clock was running so it's possible towles actually made the call. It was a chaotic situation and they had no timeouts. I do think they should have attempted a shorter pass to get into field goal range on 3rd or 4th down though. Towles seems to favor the homerun ball

I had a bigger issue with them running almost 40 seconds off the clock earlier in that series. It was like watching them try to run a two minute drill in slow mo.
Like I said though, I think part of it is adjusting to the new OC. Was Dawson's system similar enough to Brown's that the hiccups would be minimal? Sure. But there's still going to be hiccups.
