Thats not true. Only one was in bounds, and after that hit, Chubb bounced around and into the white area, which is when the 2nd hit occurred.

Neither of his feet had stepped out of bounds when the second hit occurred. Part of his body may have "broken the plane" of the out of bounds marker, but he was not out of bounds.
