Freshman year in college (2000) some of classrooms in the older buildings had ashtrays embedded in the desks. Apparently, the back two rows were the smoking rows when you could still smoke in the building.

Which wasn't that long ago. I can still remember when every mall had an ashtray about every 20 feet down the concourse.

I used to smoke in the library at LSU in the early 90s.

Gross habit. I quit when I moved to Oregon.

I'm glad for all the indoor smoke bans now. Second hand smoke stinks up your clothes.
