I'm not an internet bad arse, but this is a problem that I see a lot. I don't think everyone needs to be a door kicking bad arse SEAL wannabe, but a little bit of awareness of one's surroundings will drastically reduce the likelihood of becoming a victim. Criminals look for easy targets. Make it not worth their time, or at least appear to not be worth their time, and they'll move on to something easier.

I don't know what I'd do if I was sitting in a classroom unarmed, because that would never happen.
