I don't see how anyone can disagree with the notion that he did. 9–5 and a division title, followed by three straight 11–2 seasons? That's respectable work at any school, especially one that recorded an 0–11 campaign in just the previous decade with a NC winning coach.

The past couple of years have been disappointing, but 7–6 isn't exactly pathetic, and South Carolina is now in people's minds as a winning program.

Yea, that's pretty much how I view it as well. They better damn well not whiff when they hire Spurrier's successor.

Cutcliffe or Tuberville would make great, safe hires, but I bet they go for an up-and-comer.
