Really? Every single piece of teaching and training says that when you are confronted by a gunman, your best chance of surviving is TO BE COMPLIANT.

Not sure whether that advice still holds merit this day (I'm sure in many situations it does), but I can understand why people are still hesitant to take immediate action.

Well, this guy was asking people if they were Christian, and when they said yes, he would shoot them. Then on to the next person. Being compliant wasn't going to work.

There's no cut-and-dry this is how you survive a school shooting handbook.

Okay, so a man with a gun is executing people and you're going to be compliant? That's smart.


Also, to casts point of him having a handgun, that makes charging him tricky as opposed to a long gun. If you can close the gap fast enough with a long gun you can get past the barrel. That's near impossible with a pistol.

The stats say run like hell. You stand a better chance or trying to escape the building instead of locking your door and hiding.
