Problem with what you propose is to get funded it will have to be a minority led entity serving minorities.

I think you'd want a diverse team on any proposal, sure. But that doesn't mean the PI would have to be a minority. Co-PIs could work (one minority, one non). But yes, having someone in urban education or someone who works with child resiliency and/or educational psychology would be a must. And that's not a bad thing at all. Of course, other leadership opportunities exist as well (psychometrics, curriculum development, kinesiology/human growth & development, etc.).

Any minority led non-profit in Arkansas, not located in NW Arkansas will eventually be found to have been a sham and a personal play account for the most likely black individuals running said non-profit.

Non-profits wouldn't be involved. This would be a university-led initiative; and trust me when I say UofA's IRB office and Office of Research and Sponsored Programs would never allow for shady activities. The university has far too many irons in the research fire all across campus to allow a rogue professor to misbehave. That's the hell of university research--insane oversight. But in this case, however, it sounds like it'd be a good thing.
quote:

Urban League just started up again in NWA with a fat $70,000 check from Walmart. I wonder how long it'll take to find out that the money gets squandered and/or stolen by the UL's leaders.

Again, no non-profits invited. Just university, LEAs, superintendents, community college folks, etc.

Just something to chew on for the future.

I suppose the location and school district situations in Arkansas are not ideal for Razorback football.

But look at old Bill Snyder at K-State. Any of y'all ever been to Manhattan? I was stationed near there in the Army for a year. It is located way out in the middle of nowhere. I'm serious.

But Snyder seems to be able to get the job done there. Actually, he's the only one to ever succeed there.

Sure, the Hogs can it done. It just takes the right man. I have no idea on whether or not Bielema is said man. His style of play doesn't leave alot of margin for error, though.
