you ever hear that yall are having trouble getting bonds in a timely manner, feel free to start a thread.
The owner of the company is self made and has been doing this a long time he can cover any bond amount out of pocket although he doesn't, he has no problem getting bonded, we have an excellent record in all the areas they look at. I lucked into this particular job, it's not often you can find one that pays as well as this one in a town as small as this, I was planning on moving back to Houston when my parents didn't need me 24/7 and I fell into this job which allows me to lived very close to them even though my dad is back in good health again.

Do you usually represent insurers or insureds?

thays awesome man. Great that it all worked out for ya. I know you've done some time, and it can be hard to find something decent that's also legit. My cousin is actually just out of the pen and is having a really hard time. Glad you were able to find something where you could make a good living and be close to your parents. Good to hear pops is better too.

I would say a fair balance of both. Of course there's a PI division in my firm that defends auto accidents, but that's not really my area, and that's where we encounter most insurer representation. I will represent insurers in bad faith/contract litigation. When I represent insureds it's usually an entity who is an employer or most commonly a contractor.

I've never had trouble getting work even as a felon, I have a skill that is dying off and is something needed in the real world, just cause I was a frick up doesn't mean I don't have a brain

Do you know Bumpy Triche? He's a friend of mine.
Just saw this. But no, I don't know Bumpy. I don't work in NOLA or for Gallagher, though. I'm sure some of my colleagues know of him. We handle Tulane.

I didn't mean it that way at all. I have family members from back home that don't have any unique skills and have done time, and getting a decent paying job after prison was tough.

I know, I was just saying usually if you have a skill you can find decent paying work even as a felon, I could make close to what I'm making just as a party chief for a surveying company in a larger city, and would probably make more as a superintendent/surveyor in a larger place but not a whole lot more and the people I work for take care of us ie:no layoffs etc and biannual bonuses that more than make up the difference. Tell your cousin to keep his head up.

I'll have to show him this. I believe he is going to some form of a trade school, but hasn't decided what. Last I talked to my step mom, he was considering being an electrician.

Good trade and if he'll stick with it he can make good money, the construction industry is full of felons, some are done some aren't but he will always be able to work if he can learn a trade.
