this poor guy...he has directed unprovoked and unwarranted attacks upon what many consider to be the best team in the SEC this season, for no reason other than to somehow maintain relevance for UT in his own mind(last years 34-3 curbstomping be damned). unfortunately, perception is reality. and the perception of the whole country is that the vols are the weak arse red headed stepchild of the SEC. You may could have made that argument a decade ago, but not now. You are "Big 6" and whatever lead you once had over Georgia, LSU, Auburn, and Florida has nearly been squandered over the past 15 years.

Since 2000, Tennessee is a miserable 14-45 against the other "Big 6" programs.

Here are how the "Big 6" programs have faired against each other since the conference was formed in 1933...

Winning % against other "Big 6" programs since 1933:

60.5%- Alabama (165-106-11)
50.5%- Florida (140-137-6)
49.0%- Auburn (147-153-10)
46.8%- Georgia (120-137-8)
45.9%- Tennessee (101-120-11)
45.5%- LSU (101-120-11)

So since the conference was formed back in 1933, Tennessee and LSU actually have the worst performance against other "Big 6" members.

So much for all of that "Big 3" talk.

This is also striking to me....

Number of games played against other "Big 6" members since 1933:

310- Auburn
283- Florida
282- Alabama
265- Georgia
232- Tennessee
224- LSU

LSU and Tennessee have also played by far an easier conference schedule over the years compared to the other big guys.

In the early 2000s, Tennessee would have been without a doubt #2 in the conference. But with their 14-45 record sine 2000 against the other "Big 6" programs, UT is now underwater against the "Big 6" since the formation of the SEC, and they are a few more losses away from being dead last in that category.

Hard to claim "Big 3" along with LSU when Tennessee and LSU are trailing the pack when it comes to performance against the rest of the "Big 6" since the SEC was formed.

It's the "Big 6" period. The only way one might be able to slice it up would be "Bama and the next 5"
