I agree completely with this line of thought. The moment Battle was hired, I felt like he might be a placeholder for Saban.

Everybody thinks Saban's all about the football program, but in reality nothing's further from the truth. Just look at the number of stories we've seen about how he goes out of his way to help coaches in other sports recruit. There's no doubt he'd expect excellence throughout the entire athletic program and he'd be a fundraising machine.

The only potential downside I see is that potential football coaches would worry that if they took the job, Nick would always be looking over their shoulder.
