The rumor is that not only did UT refuse to allow the game to be rescheduled, but they chanted "Our students didn't get killed" (or something along those lines) towards the end of the game.
There is no proof of this taking place, only hearsay.

Bama fans say Toomer's was rolled when Bryant died. Auburn fans claimed Bama chanted "Lutz is dead" at last year's Iron Bowl. This sounds about as true as any of that.
